Class is a lot of information and a lot of fun– for me, anyway!
*******
This was originally a “live” class example of how direct a medium blogging really is.
In the afternoon on Monday of my “Online Business Commando Training”, 3 woman entrepreneurs and their assistants sat down to their own laptops as I guided them through:
- setting up proper web hosting
- installing and optimizing a Wordpress blog
- crafting a post
- publishing it across multiple social media platforms
While I confess to cramming in too much information for most people into one day, I can now be sure to say that everyone had an “intensive” time and is working away on creating a powerful online channel for their existing offline businesses– all 7 of their businesses (between just three students).
Because the class is devleopmental, I’ve already some adjustments based on the first 48 hours feedback (it was a full eight hour day of information & practice, and I didn’t take enough breaks, I know, I’m sorry). The next Commando class August 7,8 will run two consecutive, shorter days and offer 50% more focus on individual students and 50% more detail of what you really need to be doing with your website, Facebook, Twitter and all the rest if you’re a professional artist or run a small creative or personality-based business .
I’m also going to do a complementary extended follow upclass in person especially for these three brave women– think “class reunion” but in just a few weeks, to help evaluate performance and clarify both strategic and/or technical issues that arise getting out of the gate.
I say over and over again in my classes that you’re not trying to become a “webmaster”, you’re trying to build a business and make money. Follow through and perserverence are essential in business and harnessing the power of the internet and social media for your business is no different, so I’m following through on my commitment to your success by always working to improve, not just my classes, but their ultimate impact on your bottom line.
