I’ve used this picture for marketing purposes for a while now but I don’t think I ever published this large where you can see see the real impact of the shadow lining I’m actually painting.

Keeping in mind that these walls are completely flat plaster, I think the perspective with the wall and painted faux stone block pattern coming at you on the left tells the story nicely, the story of a painted finish respectful to the historic period of the building and also substantial enough to stand up to the ceiling with its original hardwood coffers and moulding and the elaborate stencil painting which was done years before.
Though neutralized by each other in application, this faux stone wall finish is actually based in the cranberry and teal colors blazing on the ceiling (echoed in the carpets, too) so that the whole entryway (all three floors of it) hangs together colorwise.

How do you measure how much plaster you will need for a project like this one ??
No plaster, all faux finished in acrylics form my friends at Nova Color Paints in Los Angeles!
