This is the “after” picture of the faux wood finish I created up at Viejas Casino & Outlet Center in Alpine, CA for the Viejas design team. This faux wood finish was accomplished with an automotive paint system (heavy chemicals, respirators, heavy gloves) for exterior durability. It wasn’t much fun using the chemicals themselves, but overall a very satisfying gig to have pulled off. The result was pretty and durable enough to last a few seasons in the California sun at altitude. I did maintenance faux painting for them for a few years later on, but haven’t been up there in 3 or 4 years now.
